Boise State---2010 National Champions

Not so fast. They started the season out strong with a less than impressive 33-30 win over then ranked #10 Virginia Tech.  Virginia Tech then went on to lose to James Madison University, 21-16, which made that win pretty much nothing for Boise State.  They go on to play Wyoming, whom they beat 51-6.  Oregon State, ranked 23rd at the time, was next.  Boise State won 37-24, but not an impressive win yet again.  Over the course of their next 5 games, they outscored their opponents 255-41.  Those opponents however were, New Mexico State (59-0), Toledo (57-14), San Jose State (48-0), Louisiana Tech (49-20), and Hawaii (42-7). The point I'm shooting for here is, besides Virginia Tech and Oregon State, their schedule is very, very weak.  Boise State's rankings of, #4 (BCS), and #4 (AP) are very deceiving.  Boise State plays in the WAC conference which consist of Hawaii, Fresno St., Nevada, Louisiana Tech, Idaho, New Mexico St., Utah St., and San Jose St.  Those opponents combine for a 17-21 record.  The WAC conference does not have the same respect that the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 have.  First of all, I'd be surprised if Boise State gets a bid for the National Championship, especially with Oregon and Auburn sitting atop both polls.  Second of all, I don't see them beating either of those two teams.  Oregon and Auburn are offensive powerhouses and can score at will.  Both Oregon and Auburn have the Top 2 Heisman front runners in LeMichael James (Oregon), and Cam Newton (Auburn).  The only two big names on Boise State's football team are Kellen Moore and Austin Pettis.
Boise State is just simply...overrated. Love that blue "smurf" turf though.

  1. Yo bro I completely disagree and here's why Boise State has been a dominate team ever since the famous statue of liberty play against the mighty Oklahoma Sooner also they have the longest home winning streak they 100% should get a shot a National Championship

  2. As a pretty big boise fan, i'll have to disagree with you. While Boise may not deserve to play for the national title this year, I do think they are deserving of their #4 rank, and i think they may even be under-rated. they have a heisman candidate in kellen moore, an overall great offense, and a better defense than auburn, who gives up huge points...only to score even more. plus austin pettis is an absolute beast who will tear up the nfl. and boise has got some real talent, as shown by kyle wilson, their corner from last year whose now on the jets. moore, pettis, titus young, and nate potter whose on their O-line could all be draft picks. boise beats everyone willing to play them. each year they ask some of the powerhouses to play them, and they refuse because "its not worth playing them". teams r rly scared to face boise, especially if they are playing at home where they are virtually unbeatable. I think the best case scenario would be for TCU to play auburn in the title game, with boise playing oregon in another bowl game. that would put both teams who arent in super competitive conferences against the two highest ranked teams. I wouldnt b surprised if one or both of boise and TCU won those games
